Affiliation to NIOS

In the academic year, 2020 - 21 the college got the affiliation as the study centre and exam centre for NIOS (National Insitute of Open Schooling) is an "Open School" to cater to the needs of a heterogeneous group of learners up to the pre-degree level. It was started as a project with in-built flexibilities by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in 1979. In 1986, the National Policy on Education suggested strengthening of Open School System for extending open learning facilities in a phased manner at the secondary level all over the country as an independent system with its own curriculum and examination leading to certification.

St Joseph's Community received an award for the Best Institute for Training and Job Placement from Malathi Krishnamurthy Holla an International para athlete who has been awarded with Arjuna & Padmashri ,the award ceremony was held on 26th (Saturday) October 2019 at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan

St. Joseph’s Community College Received the “Best Leadership Award” for the year 2018 in the event organized by BENGALURU NGO’s Leadership Award for the tireless service rendered to the students and offering them with ample Job opportunities to build their future.


Affiliation to NSDC

The Academic year 2018-19 will always be remembered as SJCC had its Academic Streams affiliated to the to highest record in the country for Skill Education; NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation). Five Job Roles in the sector of Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES), Electrical & Electronics, General Duty Assistant (Nursing), Logistics and Banking and Finance were recognized and approved by NSDC. Hence forth all certificates of SJCC will have NSDC certification for the respective Job roles of a Skill sector.


Decennial Celebration

The Decennial Celebration of St. Joseph’s Community College was held in January 2015. It was a grand celebration with one day seminar & Inter community college sports, cultural events called “Waves”.

The theme of the Seminar was on “Prospects and challenges of community colleges” at the St. Joseph’s auditorium. Chief Guest Mr. C R Francis gave the Key Note address.

Decennial Celebration began at 4.30pm on 31st January 2015 at the St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions Auditorium. The dignitaries were Fr. Stanislaus D’Souza Provincial, Karnataka Jesuit Province. Chief Guest Mr. Harris M.L.A from Shanti Nagar, Guest of Honour was Fr. Xavier Alpohnse, Founder Community Colleges in India, Fr. Anil D’Mello Rector St. Joseph’s Indian Institutions and Fr. Melwyn Lobo, the Director of SJCC.


UGC Recognition

UGC (Universities Grants Commission) recognized the Community College in the tear 2013. Two of our courses were recognized, Diploma in ITES and Diploma in Retail Management with 50 students in each course.
